Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh Names Old California Botanicals as Senate District 19 Small Business of the Year

Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) is proud to announce Old California Botanicals as the 2026 Senate District 19 Small Business of the Year in recognition of the company’s commitment to preserving California’s rich citrus heritage through artisan craftsmanship, innovation, and community pride.

Based in Redlands, California, Old California Botanicals is a maker of small-batch citrus marmalades and botanical goods inspired by the historic groves of Southern California. Founded by fifth-generation citrus grower and produce broker John P. Beall, the company works with exceptional citrus grown in distinctive California microclimates through a close-knit network of generational farmers and specialty growers.

“Old California Botanicals represents the entrepreneurial spirit and agricultural legacy that make our region so special,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “Their dedication to quality, craftsmanship, and honoring California’s citrus history has earned them recognition both locally and internationally. I am proud to recognize them as Senate District 19’s Small Business of the Year.”

Each batch of marmalade is crafted to showcase the vivid aroma, brightness, and complexity that have made California citrus renowned worldwide. By using rare and heirloom citrus cultivars along with fruit grown in unique microclimates, Old California Botanicals creates products with distinctive flavor profiles that celebrate the character of each harvest.

“Some of the best citrus in the world grows on family farms in the California Citrus Belt. California citrus is a robust, innovative tradition that has been going strong for 200 years,” said John P. Beall, Founder of Old California Botanicals. “Old California Botanicals is proud to participate in this tradition. We are proud to preserve and honor it in everything we do. We are so honored to have been recognized and appreciative of everything Senator Ochoa Bogh does for citrus growers and farmers in her district and across the state.”

In addition to its award-winning marmalades, the company produces fragrances, natural beeswax lip balms, soaps made from local oranges, and other botanical goods that reinterpret classic California flavors and experiences for a new generation of citrus enthusiasts.

Old California Botanicals recently received eight medals at the 2026 Artisan World Marmalade Awards in the United Kingdom, one of the largest and most competitive marmalade competitions in the world. The prestigious awards program receives more than 3,400 entries from over 30 countries, making the company’s achievement an extraordinary recognition of its craftsmanship and quality on the international stage.

Each year, the California State Senate honors small businesses that strengthen our communities and keep our economy moving forward.
