Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) is congratulating several schools and institutions within Senate District 19 that have been recognized by the California Department of Education through the 2026 California Distinguished Schools Award and the 2026 California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award programs.
"These recognitions reflect the extraordinary dedication of students, educators, administrators, classified staff, and families throughout Senate District 19," said Senator Ochoa Bogh. "Their commitment to academic excellence and expanding educational opportunities is helping prepare the next generation for success. I am proud to see these schools and institutions receive the statewide recognition they have earned."
The California Distinguished Schools Award, established in 1985, is one of the state's highest honors for public schools. The program recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in academic achievement, innovation, student engagement, and efforts to support student success.
The following Senate District 19 schools were named 2026 California Distinguished Schools:
• Beaumont Middle College High School
• La Quinta High School
• Redlands East Valley High School
• Western Center Academy
In addition, the California Department of Education recognized outstanding dual enrollment programs through the 2026 California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award. Established during the 2022-23 school year, the award honors schools and colleges that provide exceptional dual enrollment opportunities, particularly for underserved student populations.
The following Senate District 19 institutions received the 2026 California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Award:
• Twentynine Palms High School
• Yucca Valley High School
• College of the Desert
• Copper Mountain College
Senator Ochoa Bogh commended each of the honored schools and colleges for their accomplishments and thanked them for their continued service to students and communities across the district.
