Senator Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) has honored Dr. Amy Young as the 19th Senate District’s Woman of the Year 2025.

As Chief of the Division of Forensic Pediatrics and Founder of the Resiliency Institute at LLUCH, she has pioneered a holistic, trauma-informed model of care that fosters long-term healing. Committed to shaping the next generation of forensic pediatricians, Dr. Young provides essential training while advocating for resilience and hope. Through her leadership in Give Something Back, a scholarship and educational advocacy program, she helps at-promise youth build brighter futures. Her unwavering dedication continues to transform lives and inspire lasting change.

The Woman of the Year award is given annually by each California legislator in their district, celebrates California’s extraordinary women. The first recognition was held in 1987 to help commemorate Women’s History Month. The award has become an annual Capitol tradition to salute women who have done outstanding community service.
