Senator Ochoa Bogh and Assemblyman Lackey Secure State of Emergency Declaration by Governor for Mountain Communities

Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R-Yucaipa) and Republican Assembly Caucus Chair, Assemblyman Tom Lackey, are pleased to announce Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a State of Emergency in Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear Lake, Crestline, Running Springs, and many more mountain communities after Senator Ochoa Bogh and Assemblyman Lackey sent a letter requesting the Governor declare the area a State of Emergency.

“I thank the Governor for recognizing our communities that are in dire need of help,” said Senator Ochoa Bogh. “The extreme snowfall has residents trapped in their homes, running out of food and medication. This action will now allow local state agencies access to additional resources to get help where it is needed the most. I look forward to our continued work with the Governor’s office and the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) to ensure supplies and help are on the way. I also thank San Bernardino County and California Department of Transportation District 8 for their tireless work.”

“I am thankful the Governor heard our plea and has granted our request,” said Assemblyman Lackey. “We now can access additional resources to help those most in need. Our local city agencies have been working diligently to help alleviate the snow. I thank San Bernardino County and our local California Department of Transportation district for their dedication and tireless work clearing highways and neighborhood streets.”
