Sen. Ochoa Bogh responds to State of the State: “The results don’t match the rhetoric”

Press Release in Spanish

Immediately after Governor Newsom’s State of the State, Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh (R–Yucaipa) released a video addressing the real challenges facing Californians.

“After years of one-party rule under Gavin Newsom, the results don’t match the rhetoric. While the Governor takes victory laps, families are taking extra shifts,” said Sen. Ochoa Bogh. “While speeches sound optimistic, budgets at the kitchen table don’t add up. California is the world’s fourth-largest economy. We should be doing better.”

The governor’s speech largely ignored the declining quality of life in California. In her message, Senator Ochoa Bogh pointed out that according to the Public Policy Institute of CA, since 2020, families are paying about 25 percent more for essentials such as housing, food, and roughly 40 percent more for utilities and gas under his leadership. She also called attention to the state’s dwindling economic opportunities and the struggles facing California students.

“It’s time for less news spin and more results. Less theatrics by leaders and more progress with attainable actions. If we focus on real solutions and real accountability, we can build a California where families don’t just get by, they thrive,” Ochoa Bogh concluded.
